Skills for Conversations that Matter

Communicate with ease in 10 minutes a day!

What now after attending the half day workshop?

You’ve done the half-day workshop, now you must practice and apply those skills to communicate effectively with people in everyday life. How are you going to do this and not fall back into bad habits?

Firstly, you must understand how new skills are learnt.

Example: How You Learn New Skills

Driving a car is something you can take for granted but you go through stages for it to become automatic. Let’s use the example of driving to understand the 4 stages of learning all new skills:-

  1. Unconscious Incompetence – You don’t know what you don’t know.
  2. Conscious Incompetence – You realise you don’t know and need to practice.
  3. Conscious Competence – Your skills improve but you’re aware of your every move.
  4. Unconscious Competence – You drive without a second thought.

This is the same for improving your communication skills.

Most of what you learn comes from your family, schools, jobs and friends. The quality of this everyday learning affects your confidence and willingness to navigate the social word.

Communicating Better in Your Life

The recent communications Workshop taught you the mindset and foundational skills necessary to improve the quality of your communication with family, friends and colleagues. Like driving, you only become “unconsciously competent” when you practice regularly. A great way to do this is to think about difficult interactions after they happen and consider better ways to which you can handle them next time.

Can you commit to 10 mins a day to practice and apply essential communication skills?
